Monday Night Sprints #4
Monday Night Sprints #4 had the most diverse and interesting field of the series. There were pros and Olympians. There were enduros. There were representatives from all four tracks in the state. And There racers aged 14 to 77.
The “A” bracket entertained us with many very close matches and a variety of tactics. In a familiar matchup, Giddeon Massie outlasted Nate Koch for the victory and a $100 check. Tela Crane made the top field to be the highest placing woman ($100).
Thanks to Lee Povey and Daryl Hemenway for coming down from Hellyer Velodrome. And thanks to Hans Lieber for coming up from San Diego Velodrome. Thanks to the officials (John Allen and Hector Nava) and volunteers (Rebecca Pelegrin and Sharon Brewer). And of course thanks to chief sponsor Dr. Howard Marans for giving sprinters a chance to sprint.
