LAVRA Women’s Race Clinic Series 3.10.19

Chris Birch is a professional track cyclist based out of Los Angeles. She has competed for Team USA at UCI Events and World Cup events across the world, earning medals in the Madison and Team Pursuit events in her pursuit of racing at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. In 2019, she will be using her teaching skills developed as a graduate student at MIT and a professor and instructor at UC Riverside and CalTech to teach new and experienced track riders how to race, how to read and race, and how the develop and execute race strategies.
Registration is $20 for each clinic, limited to 16 riders.
Riders must be certified at Velo Sports Center.

Clinics will meet in the main lobby of the Velo Sports Center at 1:00 PM.
Intermediate Mass Start Racing on the Track
2 sessions: March 9 and 10, 2019 from 1:00-4:30 PM each day
Prerequisites: Completion of Introduction to Mass Start Racing on the Track class or prior track racing experience
The Intermediate Mass Start Racing on the Track class covers more advanced topics, tactics, and strategy of mass start races, focusing on the events of the International Omnium. The Saturday class will cover the scratch and elimination races. The Sunday class will cover the tempo race and the IO points race. This class is suitable for racers with prior track racing experience who are looking to hone their skills.
