Accelerated Class
is a
one session class that helps riders get used to the nuances of the Home
Depot Center Velodrome, adapting their existing skills to this facility.
Rules, safety, and etiquette are stressed. This class is an orientation
for experienced track riders.
Fee: $65
Requirement: The
Accelerated Class
is a one time class and prior track or extensive road, mtb, bmx, or cx
experience is required.
Rental bikes are available in sizes to fit
most riders. You may bring your own pedal/shoe combination.
Pedals with clips and straps are always available on the rental bikes,
and some clipless pedals may be available.
Race Days: the accelerated class is offered on most
race days- see the calendar or the race flyer for details. For
racers who have paid the full registration and track fees, the
accelerated class is included free, but riders must provide their own
bike. Riders who do not intend to race may attend the class for
$65 all included, and may use a rental bike if needed.
Whether or not you are racing, please arrive early and be at the race
registration desk dressed and ready to ride 15 minutes before the start
of the class. If you need to rent a bike, please
check in at the race registration desk 30 minutes prior to class so
there's time to get set up (you may bring your own pedals and
shoes). On race days there is usually limited
time available at the end of the class for riders to practice on their
own.
For dates and times, see
calendar.
For a written version of the contents of the accelerated class,
version contains most of the information you will get in the accelerated
class and is a good review of track etiquette for more experienced
riders. You should read it before attending the class, and may
find it helpful for later reference.

The Home Depot Center Velodrome takes safety as its primary concern. Helmets and
